THE ESSAY TOPIC FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2021-2022

Each school year, all students will be given the same topic on which to write. Your essay submission must be between 250 and 500 words in length, and you must use good grammar and correct spellings.
May we suggest using a format for compositions like the five-paragraph essay. It is not the only format for writing an essay, of course, but it is a useful model for you to keep in mind, especially as you continue to develop your writing skills.

Please work on your essay offline. When you are ready to submit, login to SmartDrive Classic and then upload or copy and paste your finished document into the response area in this section of SmartDrive Classic.
VERY IMPORTANT – Please be sure to include YOUR NAME, YOUR LOGIN ID (email address), and THE NAME AND LOCATION OF YOUR SCHOOL in the header of your essay. If your essay is more than one page, your header information should be on each page.

Again – The content of your essay will be the largest part of your score, but grammar and spelling are important, too. Please be sure to both proofread and spell check your essay before uploading/submitting your SmartDrive Essay.
The essay submissions will be reviewed and scored by both highway safety professionals and high school educators. Your essay score will be added to the scores you received on the quizzes following Lessons 1, 2 and 3, as well as your parent’s score on their quiz at the end of The Parent Lesson.
Your essay must be submitted prior to 11:59 PM on April 30, 2022.
There will be no exceptions to this deadline.
